“Sonata Caratteristica” is written according to the traditional classical form norms. However, the music language of the work is contemporary, it employs a lot of artistic and technical methods of the nowadays classical guitar school. Apart from the artistic component, the author’s goal was also to enrich the classical guitar repertoire, which lacks works of the traditional sonata form.
The authorial quasi folklore interpolations, subtly woven into the score, represent the other important aspect of the work’s music. Actually, in order to emphasize this quasi folklore component, the word “caratteristica” was used in the title (what means “characteristic” from Italian).
PDF Sheet Music of the composition contains 11 pages (main score 7 pages, 1 page with explanations, cover and the title page). The supporting audio is just the computer reproduction of the score. However all the effects sound quite correctly and generally the track gives a very good understanding of the music. |
