The “Tales of Highland” is another work from the series, representing composer’s fascination with the Hutsuls’ folklore, a Ukrainian ethnic group inhabiting in the Carpathians mountains in the Western Ukraine. Comparing to the earlier works of the composer written in this style, the “Tales of Highland” is much more complex, incorporating sophisticated contemporary composition techniques and advanced classical Guitar performance methods.
